 A historical reissue released for Air Max Day 2023. It famously revives the original 1986 prototype design by Tinker Hatfield, featuring a significantly larger visible Air unit than the standard 1987 production model.

Air Max 1 '86 OG Big Bubble (DQ3989-100): This model features the iconic "Sport Red" (University Red) colourway on the mudguard and Swoosh, set against white mesh and neutral grey synthetic suede overlays.

"Big Bubble" Air Unit: The defining feature is the enlarged, four-circle visible Air unit in the heel, restored to its original 1986 dimensions before it was downsized for mass production.

Archival Details:

Midsole: A white polyurethane midsole with heavier debossed grooves and a more sharply angled gradient typical of 80s tooling.

Branding: Retro " Air" branding on the tongue and heel, with sizing information printed directly onto the interior ankle collar to mimic vintage marking.

Packaging: Arrives in an "aged" aesthetic box with scuffs and a Swoosh-shaped cut-out window, designed to feel like a rediscovered relic.

Premium Construction: Built with a mix of breathable open-cell mesh, synthetic suede, and calf leather for a faithful 1:1 recreation of the original silhouette.
