Caparsa Chianti Classico Riserva 'Doccio a Matteo'

Caparsa’s Doccio a Matteo Chianti Classico Riserva is a stunner from one of Tuscany’s greatest vintages. Proprietor Paolo Cianferoni only makes this single-vineyard wine in exceptional years, using fruit from his oldest Sangiovese vines in Radda. His traditional approach includes native yeasts, 18 months in neutral oak, and minimal fining or filtration. Antonio Galloni of Vinous Media awarded it 96 points, calling it a wine that “cries for the dinner table.”

Dark and intense, with notes of dark berries, cherry liqueur, violets, eucalyptus, and exotic spices, this Riserva has fine yet dense tannins and a remarkably long finish. Enjoy it now with a LONG decant or cellar it for 15 to 20 years.
