Concannon Irish Woven Blanket | Galway Family Crest Throw
Concannon is Galway soil: Ó Concheanainn, a sept of the county's eastern plains. This premium heritage woven blanket honors the Concannon family crest against the Irish National Tartan.
The Concannon Name in Ireland
The Irish is Ó Concheanainn, a sept of the Uí Bhriúin with its lands in east Galway, where the name is still thickest. Its most enterprising emigrant was James Concannon of Inishmaan in the Aran Islands, who founded the Concannon Vineyard in California's Livermore Valley in 1883 — among the oldest continuously operating wineries in America, with the family name still on the label. Galway grew the name; the world has since acquired a taste for it.
How the Concannon Blanket Is Made
Patient work: the crest and tartan are woven into 100% premium cotton cloth and finished with traditional fringed edges.
