Cosgrove Irish Woven Blanket | Ó Coscraigh Family Crest Throw
Cosgrove descends from coscrach — victorious — a name given for battles now forgotten. This premium heritage woven blanket honors the Cosgrove family crest against the Irish National Tartan.
The Cosgrove Name in Ireland
The Irish is Ó Coscraigh, from coscrach, victorious, and it named more than one family: a Leinster sept of the Wicklow and Wexford borders and a northern one in Monaghan, with Mac Coscraigh alongside. Cosgrove became the usual spelling in the north and west, Cosgrave in Leinster — the same name in two coats. Its most consequential modern bearer was W. T. Cosgrave, who led the government of the Irish Free State through its first decade.
How the Cosgrove Blanket Is Made
Woven from edge to edge. The crest and tartan are formed in 100% premium cotton yarn within the cloth, finished with a traditional fringe.
