Vintage Brutalist Caged Glass Tankard Mugs by Felipe Derflingher

Two-piece set of vintage brutalist mouth-blown amethyst colored glass mugs/tankards caged in stamped metal by artist Felipe Derflingher, who is a third-generation glass artist from Mexico City. His grandfather, who came from Germany, was one of the first glass-blowers in Mexico. The caged glass technique, invented in Murano, Italy, features glass that is blown inside metal while it is heated, making it impossible to remove the glass afterwards. Check out those beautiful pontil marks on the base!
